About two and a half decades ago, my mom somehow discovered the Broadway musical, which she used to listen to on CD and watch on video. Me and Les Miserables have an interesting history. Nevertheless, I'm still sniffling as I write this review because I will never get over how much I adore Jean Valjean and Marius and Cosette. My only complaint is that the drawing style of this sometimes felt juvenile, and for a book about the French revolution and death and prostitution, its delivery in certain areas was lacking. Since I already know the story so well, I can't judge if it would be good for a first time reader, but my favorite parts were just as impactful as I was hoping. I think this adaptation was faithful, showed more than the movie had time to, and was still easy to understand. They are fairly successful in their deception except for the fact that they both find Paolo sexy and both have also just discovered a sexy new family doc-the son of their old favorite, Dr. ![]() The caveat is that Paolo wants the good twin, Bobby, to do most of the work, so the twins decide to dye their hair to the same color and pull the old twin switch game since the concept was Robin’s and Robin is the better artist.
